French Model 1866 Series Z Sabre Bayonet ScabbardUp for auction is this french made sabre that was also a bayonet for the chessepot infantry musket. I believe it to be authentic. The blade has been sharpened and is knicked. It shows a lot of age. It's marked on the spine with the arsenal, month, and year of manufacture. St. Etienne mai 1871. Brass hilt with spring steel latching mechanism. Crossguard seems to be steel or iron and has a screw type tightener for the muzzle ring. The lower quillon is a hooked blad breaker type. The scabbard looks to be undented but has pletny of marks. Pay with money order, ecrtified check, or paypal. Winning bidder pays shipping. Insurance within the us is not mandatory but i can not be responsible for lost or damaged pckages. I require a response to the invoice within 3 days of close of auction. Payment is expected within 7. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
